This framework aims to help senior board members to strengthen board governance, boost leadership and improve patient safety. The list is not exhaustive but is a compilation of support offers where there is sufficient information available – either via desktop research or through dialogue with providers – to include with confidence that they offer support commensurate with the level.

This report, developed in partnership with the LGBT Foundation, includes new data from a survey and interviews with trans and non-binary people in the NHS. It finds that 55 per cent experienced transphobia in the workplace and 47 per cent experienced negative or stereotypical assumptions about their gender identity. It aims to support leaders to become effective, active allies to their health care staff; take action to ensure working environments are inclusive; and guide decision-making when developing policies for trans and non-binary staff.

When developing its local framework for clinical and care professional leadership, Gloucestershire Integrated Care System (One Gloucestershire ICS) wanted to take an approach that explored opportunities to strengthen leadership in an inclusive way. An external peer review, facilitated by the Leading Integration Peer Support (LIPS) Programme, created an opportunity for everyone’s voice to be heard.

The NHS Providers’ Digital Boards development programme is delivered in partnership with Public Digital and is designed to support boards in leading the digital transformation agenda. The programme is commissioned by Health Education England as part of their Digital Readiness Education Programme and is supported by NHS England and NHS Improvement. Digital Boards aims to build board understanding of the potential and implications of the digital agenda and increase the confidence and capability of boards to harness the opportunity that digital provides through board resources, webinars, peer learning and free board development sessions for individual trusts.
