Major conditions strategy: call for evidence

Department of Health and Social Care -
A call for evidence has been launched to invite views on how best to prevent, early diagnose, treat, and manage the six major groups of conditions which drive-ill health and contribute to the burden of disease in the population in England. The six major health conditions – cancer; cardiovascular diseases including stroke and diabetes; chronic respiratory diseases; dementia; mental ill-health and; musculoskeletal disorders – affect millions of people in England with data showing that one in four suffer from two or more of these major long-term conditions.

Care workforce pathway for adult social care: call for evidence

Department of Health and Social Care -
This call for evidence will inform the development of a new care workforce pathway for adult social care. The Department of Health and Social Care, in partnership with Skills for Care, is consulting to gather views on what should be included within the pathway. These views will be considered when developing the first iteration of the pathway, which is scheduled to be published in autumn 2023. The closing date for comments is 31 May 2023.

McCloud remedy part 2: proposed changes to NHS Pension Schemes Regulations 2023

Department of Health and Social Care - 
The Department of Health and Social Care is consulting on a draft Statutory Instrument making changes to NHS Pension Schemes Regulations necessary to implement the second part of the McCloud remedy. The remedy has two parts: to ensure equal treatment for all members within each of the main public service pension schemes by moving all members into the new schemes; and to remove the effect of transitional protection by offering eligible members a choice over the set of benefits. The closing date for comments is 6 June 2023.

Proposed changes to the statutory scheme to control the costs of branded health service medicines: consultation response

Department of Health and Social Care -
This document analyses the responses to the consultation and sets out the government’s response to the issues raised. The government has decided to increase the payment percentage in the statutory scheme to 27.5 per cent in 2023. The amendments to the 2018 regulations will be set out in the Branded Health Service Medicines (Costs) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and will come into force on 1 April 2023.

Minimum service levels in event of strike action: ambulance services in England, Scotland and Wales

Department of Health and Social Care - 

The DHSC is seeking views during passage of the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill on, subject to Parliamentary approval, introducing regulations on minimum service levels in England, Scotland, and Wales to support minimum service levels in the health service during strike action to protect patient safety. The consultation closes at 11:45am on 9 May 2023.

Group accounting manual 2023 to 2024: consultation exercise

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and its bodies within the DHSC accounting boundary are required by law to produce an annual report and accounts. The group accounting manual (GAM) is DHSC’s guidance to bodies on preparing and publishing an annual report and accounts. This consultation asks for views on the GAM. Antimicrobial resistance national action plan: call for evidence

Department of Health and Social Care - 
The government is developing the next five year national action plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The plan will run from 2024 until 2029. The action plan will be part of a programme to tackle AMR and achieve the UK’s vision for AMR to be contained and controlled by 2040. The closing date for comments is 20 January 2023.

NHS enforcement guidance consultation

NHS England - 

NHS England has updated its Enforcement guidance to reflect the Health and Care Act 2022 and current practice. The revised guidance sets out NHS England’s approach to enforcement of integrated care boards and providers. The revised guidance applies to all integrated care boards and licensed providers in England where NHS England has determined that formal regulatory action is required, and explains the regulatory and statutory processes in the event of enforcement action as well as subsequent rights of appeal, where applicable. The consultation closes on 9 December 2022.

Acquired brain injury call for evidence
