This document outlines the government's response to a public consultation on cyber security in the UK. Critical industries and services in the UK are now being urged to boost cyber security or otherwise risk being fined up to £17 million. Sector-specific regulators will also be appointed to ensure that essential services are protected. The response is accompanied by guidance published by the National Cyber Security Centre for organisations for dealing with any cyber security breaches.
