28/06/06 - New strategic health authorities

Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of State for Health, has given a rallying call to the NHS Chiefs in each of the ten English strategic health authorities. The new health authorities came into effect on 1 July 2006. The reconfiguration sees the number of strategic health authorities reduced from 28 to 10.
