NHS England -
NHS England is developing a new accessible information standard which will make sure that people can understand the information they are given about their health and care. It means all organisations will need to find out if a patient has extra communication needs because of a disability or sensory loss, and take steps to meet those needs. This could include large print, braille, easy read or via e-mail or a British Sign Language interpreter. Now NHS England is undertaking a consultation with organisations and the public on the draft standard. The closing date for comments is 9 November 2014.
