House of Commons Health Select Committee -
This report concludes that the health and care system needs fundamental change so that services are joined up and focussed on the needs of patients. It recommends that the current level of real terms funding for social care should be ring-fenced. It also recommends that the role of Health and Wellbeing Boards should be developed to allow them to become effective commissioners of joined-up health and care services. It also considers other issues such as competition, pay restraint and trusts and foundation trusts.
