05/01/06 - Dental services contracts

This letter from Barry Cockcroft, Chief Dental Officer for England (Acting), gives details on new dental services contracts and the system of patient charges approved by Parliament. To ensure that the provision of NHS services continues from April 2006 it recommends that contracts be agreed upon by 28 February 2006. Information is also provided on the review of salaried dental services with NHS Employers, taking forward negotiations with the British Dental Association to agree a new structure of pay and conditions for salaried dentists in England.
